1. ensure that there is no Microsoft account linked under 'access work or school'
2. uninstall any previous versions of Microsoft Office.
3. login at office.com and download and install.
4. once installed delete 2 folders C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ OneAuth and IdentityCache folders
